Simmons-Bond Inn

Simmons-Bond Inn

Toccoa is proud to be the home of a beautiful bed and breakfast – the Simmons Bond Inn. This Queen Anne Greek Revival masterpiece is a unique addition to the culture and history of Toccoa. The Simmons Bond Inn was built over 100 years ago and was recently renovated and restored to its current classic condition. Toccoa’s only bed and breakfast is located in downtown Toccoa near the courthouse, city hall, and county annex buildings and Toccoa Falls College is just one mile away.

Todd and Joy Cusato own the Simmons Bond Inn. They moved to Toccoa in 1999 to be closer to their daughter, Elizabeth, who was attending Toccoa Falls College. The Simmons Bond Inn was for sale, so the Cusato’s decided to take this business opportunity along with the big challenge of renovation. The Inn had been closed for a few years after being used as a restaurant so there was a significant amount of work that needed to be done in order to turn the building into a bed and breakfast.

The Cusato’s worked hard for about two years to add bathrooms to all of the bedrooms, renovate the kitchen, put in new water heaters and air conditioners, install new carpet, and much more. Finally, after much hard work and determination, the Simmons Bond Inn was opened and its five beautiful rooms were put to use.

The entire first floor of the inn is constructed of rich quarter-sawn oak, including the many ionic columns and the grand staircase. The original brass chandeliers and spectacular stained glass, leaded glass and curved glass windows still grace the foyer, parlor and dining room.

The five rooms of the Simmons Bond Inn are all uniquely decorated to fit different styles and tastes. The first room, the Elizabeth, boasts a king-size bed made from an antique deacon's bench, a large full bath, limed oak vanity and working mahogany fireplace. The Tiffany is bright and cheery, due to the spider web oval leaded glass window and two arched curved-glass windows. The Bethany has a high queen-size four-poster bed and is available as a suite with connecting room and extra bath. The Maria is a garden-style room with double bed and large full bath. The last room, the Colleen, is decorated in an East African motif. It contains many authentic items from Gabon and a secret passageway to the bath with a shower.

Each room is air-conditioned and contains a working fireplace. All have private baths and every amenity, including in-room gourmet coffee and tea, working fireplace, cable TV, VCR, iron and ironing board, hair dryer and much more. Complimentary snacks and cold drinks, along with a microwave, make the inn ideal for long stays. A truly fabulous gourmet breakfast, served on china and crystal, is included.

The Cusato family continues to work hard to make the Simmons Bond Inn an enjoyable place to stay.
