Andrews Cove
Andrews Cove Recreation Area, off State Route 17/75, offers visitors relaxing camping, fishing, and hiking opportunities. Picnic tables, grills, and tent pads are provided at the 11 camp sites situated along Andrews Creek. Trout fishing enthusiasts can put their skills to the test in the creek's cool waters. The 2-mile Andrews Cove Trail, running parallel to the creek, follows an old logging road and connects to the Appalachian Trail.
Hiking, Fishing & Other Activities
The Andrews Cove Trail follows an old logging road parallel to Andrews Creek. This trail is 2 miles long and provides access to the Appalachian Trail and Forest Service Road 283 at Indian Grave Gap.
Fishing for trout in Andrews Creek is also popular among visitors. Check State fishing regulations before fishing.
Six miles farther north on Georgia 75 is High Shoals Scenic Area. The town of Helen is popular for Octoberfest and for its alpine village setting, especially during the fall season.
Anna Ruby Falls is also nearby and offers two hiking trails. The Lion's Eye Trail is accessible to people with disabilities.
Site Amenities
Andrews Cove Recreation Area offers restrooms along with 10 camp sites that are equipped with tent pads, picnic tables, grills, and lantern posts. The area is open from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. and a fee is required for all campsites. Drinking water is not available at this campground.
Directions
From Tallulah Falls, take US-441 S/US-23 S/GA-15 S. Turn right onto GA-385 after going approximately 7 miles. Continue for approximately five miles to downtown Clarkesville. Turn right onto Monroe St./GA Hwy. 115/GA Hwy. 17. Go approximately 2 miles and turn right onto GA Hwy. 17/Unicoi Turnpike. Go through downtown Helen, continuing north for approximately 5.5 miles. The park entrance will be on the right.
